OHMC 1/2 day of mindfulness: Exploring concentration and insight

  • 3812 Northampton Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20015 United States (map)

Saturday, February 11
12:30 - 4:30pm EST

We are offering an in-person half day of mindfulness to bring more concentration and insight into our daily lives.

During our four hours together, we will enjoy a guided deep relaxation, mindful movements or walking meditation, sitting meditation, a video from Thich Nhat Hanh, and a time for dharma sharing. We’ll also have a short break for snacks and socializing.

For those who would like to attend the retreat and remain in noble silence, you are free to do so.

The Opening Heart Mindfulness Community seeks to foster understanding and compassion by providing vibrant and generous opportunities to practice mindfulness within a diverse community in the Plum Village tradition, founded by Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. We recognize that in supporting racial and social justice equity within our sangha and throughout the mahasangha, we support the work of transformation individually and collectively.

We know the benefits of having a wide diversity of experience in our sanghas and so we welcome any and all people. We welcome you of any race, shape, size, neuro-diversity, gender expression or form. We welcome you especially if you have ever felt sidelined or marginalized for any reason.

We will offer a platform for people to arrange to carpool to the studio if you don’t have transportation (we are not monitoring this so ridesharing isn’t guaranteed).

Masks are optional. Seating is limited to 20 in our meditation space.
